ANTICORROSIVE TREATMENTS FOR LINEAR GUIDEWAYS

We can provide anticorrosive treatments for Hiwin linear guideways on customers’ specific request. Choosing the right surface coating is essential to ensure higher reliability, quality and durability, even in the most critical conditions. Indeed, linear guideways are key components in several applications where the possible presence of moisture, dust and corrosive agents causes damaging conditions for their functioning. Anticorrosive treatments for linear guideways help to make these transmission systems resistant to any critical condition.

MANGANESE PHOSPHATING

It’s a 3 microns thick manganese phosphate coating which can be applied to rails. Manganese phosphating guarantees better resistance to wear compared to zinc phosphating because it seeps deeper into metal support. Moreover, it ensures an excellent protection against water, aggressive environments and in presence of low loads. Finally, it enhances alignment of mechanical parts reducing their noisiness.

NIPLOY NICKEL COATING

Nickel treatment is a 5-10 microns thick coating made of 80% nickel and 10% phosphorus. It’s suitable for applications with medium/high loads (unlike low loads of manganese phosphating) and food industry. Indeed, this anticorrosive treatment for linear guideways can be applied to rails to ensure higher surface hardness of metal, as well as optimal protection against water and moderately aggressive environments.

ARMOLOY

Armoloy treatment consists of a 2-12 microns thick layer made of 95% pure chrome. Such a high concentration of pure chrome provides great hardness to metal and ensures excellent protection against corrosion and resistance to wear. Therefore, armoloy coating is ideal for high load applications and food industry. Unlike the other two anticorrosive treatments for linear guideways, armoloy can be applied to both blocks and rails.
